Who is the client?
Educators for Excellence is a teacher-led organization that ensures teachers have a leading voice in the policies that impact their students and profession. They envision an equitable and excellent education system that provides all students the opportunity to succeed and elevates the teaching profession.
What did they need help with?
Educators for Excellence was launching a three-year phase of work to open the window to teacher contracts as a highway to systemic educational change. For this project we created a microsite with a sub-brand, Where We Agree, that coincided with the publication of a report that E4E was creating with the Center for Public Research and Leadership at Columbia University.
This project was a microsite that was intended to drive teachers (and potentially other audiences) to:
- Understand the connection between their contracts and success in their classrooms,
- Discover examples of contract language and see how that language impacts outcomes
- Believe they can make a difference and build an action plan with the site’s guidance
- Sign up to connect with Educators for Excellence
- Provide feedback on how we can make this experience more connecting and effective
What was my role?
- Developed a comprehensive six-month project timeline in Asana, outlining critical milestones for branding, UX design, graphic design, development, user testing, and launch.
- Managed and led a cross-functional team of strategists, designers, and developers.
- Served as primary client liaison, conducting weekly syncs, developing meeting agendas, and ensuring open communication.-
- Collaborated closely with an international development team to align project deliverables with client expectations and address all QA and bug issues.
- Proactively identified and resolved project roadblocks by providing clear guidance, addressing unclear feedback, and fostering a productive environment for the creative team.
How did it turn out?
The microsite, Where We Agree, was successfully completed with the delivery of a visually stunning platform featuring key elements such as an interactive quiz, dedicated issue pages, contract examples, and case studies. While a month-long project delay due to an additional round of user testing necessitated a change order and incurred additional fees, the client ultimately approved the extension as it aligned with their overall timeline and goals to ensure the site was easily accessible to teachers. The project's focus on teacher user experience has yielded positive feedback, with educators reporting increased understanding of their contracts and a willingness to share the resource with colleagues.
